Theatre shows for the festive season

Here in Angel we're lucky to have lots of theatres, from leading dance powerhouse Sadler's Well through to cosy family-friendly fun at Little Angel Theatre, we've got something for everyone, especially during the festive season. Here's our round-up of shows to check out this winter:
The King’s Head Theatre Jack and the Beanstalk
November 23 to January 4
King’s Head Theatre is back with its second annual panto, Jack and the Beanstalk. This year’s magical musical adventure in the clouds promises fun for the whole family — the perfect way to kick off the holiday season and make a new festive tradition in North London. There's also an adults only version for those who like their humour a little on the spicy side. If you can get a group together you can book 10 seats for £10 each, making a good option for a work Christmas do.

Sadler’s Wells Matthew Bourne's New Adventures –The Red Shoes
December 2 to January 18
A timeless fairy tale and Academy Award-winning movie, The Red Shoes has captivated audiences and inspired generations of dancers with its powerful tale of obsession, possession and one girl’s dream to be the greatest dancer in the world.

Almeida Theatre Christmas Day
December 9 to January 8
In an abandoned building somewhere above the Northern Line, with foxes prowling the deserted streets outside, a Jewish family gathers on Christmas Day.
A viciously funny new play about identity, belonging, and the rituals we perform with the people we love.

Union Chapel The BIG Christmas London Sing
December 13
After 3 years of success, this seasonal celebration comes to London for the first time. 100 voices joined by 2 special guest singers bring a mix of traditional Christmas standards and wide-ranging repertoire of songs you know and love. Special guests: Gospel and Union Chapel Voices singer Claudina Edwards plus Rugby's Got Talent winner Charlotte Traynor.

Old Red Lion Theatre Love Conditions
December 9 to 12

Little Angel Theatre The Storm Whale
November 22 to January 24
One for little ones, and aimed at children age 4- 8, this is a tender and heart-warming story of friendship, love and courage. The tale of a little boy, Noi who lives with his Dad and their six cats by the sea. One spring, while his Dad was busy at work, Noi rescued a little whale that washed up on the beach during a storm. There a friendship began that changed their lives forever.
