Angel is blessed with one of the highest concentrations of theatre and show venues in the UK, ranging from dance powerhouse Sadler's Wells to cosy above pub option Old Red Lion. Humble Grape, 11 Theberton Street
Tucked away down Theberton Street, this is a classy option for some pre-show wine and food. Their newly launched pre-theatre menu offers two courses and a glass of wine for £27, from 5 til 6:30.
Crudough, 360 St John Street
This sourdough pizza bar and pub is right next to Sadler's Wells. From 4 to 6 Tuesday to Friday the Beat the clock offer means the time you order is the price you pay for draft beer + fizz cocktails. A great informal option for a pre-show pizza and drink.
La Divina, 134 Upper Street
Just next to King's Head Theatre, this is a family-run Italian restaurant offering freshly made pasta and pizza in a cosy setting. Look out for the Vespa and Fiat 500 inside (you can't really miss them!)
Noci, 4 Islington Green
PERFECT PAIRINGS is designed with theatre-goers in mind. From Sunday to Thursday, from 5:30pm – 7:00pm enjoy one of their signature pasta dishes and a glass of Italian wine for just £20.

Bellanger, 9 Islington Green
A visit to this gorgeous French inspired bistro, Bellanger makes for a special start to your night. The prix fixe menu get you 2 course for £19.95 or 3 courses for £23.95 for 3 courses and there's also a Pour Deux offering two steak frites or two moules mariniere and a bottle of wine for £49.95

New restaurant Summer Dumpling isn't far from Sadler's Wells and offers sichuan style dumplings (obviously) as well as noodles.

Serving classic and creative sushi and skewers from the grill in its open-plan dining room, lounge and bar, Sticks'n'Sushi takes inspiration from their half-Japanese, half-Danish background, creating a unique cuisine that combines two culinary traditions.
