The Quentin Blake Centre for Illustration is celebrating after receiving a £3.75 million grant from the National Lottery Heritage Fund. The funding will support the Centre’s ambitious plans to restore New River Head, an 18th and 19th century waterworks in Clerkenwell, and reopen it as the permanent national centre for illustration. This will include galleries, learning spaces, a café and shop. With a total of £11.5 million now secured to acquire and develop the site, organisers are launching an appeal to raise a further £1 million by the end of 2024. You can learn more about the New River Head development plans here, and help the Centre create this landmark cultural hub by donating.
